A REDDITCH man has been charged with possession of a submachine gun and ammunition.
Officers from West Midlands Police arrested Ross Braithwaite, from Holloway Lane, after they stopped a car on the M5 motorway between junctions 3 and 4 near Bromsgrove on Tuesday October 13.
Police seized the pistol from a rucksack along with 20 rounds of ammunition.
The 31-year-old has now been charged with possessing a banned firearm and ammunition.
He appeared in court via video link from a cell block this morning (Thursday, October 15) and has been remanded into prison until his next court appearance on November 12.
