CHILDREN at Little Trinity Nursery in Kidderminster had a fun-packed Halloween week of activities and games as well as a frighteningly cool mini disco on Thursday.

To celebrate Halloween - albeit a little differently this year due to Covid restrictions - the children took part in activities within their class bubbles and were party-dress-ready in their scariest costumes for their spooky disco.

Nursery manager Gaynor Carter said: “The children had a fabulous time playing witches ring toss, spooky skittles, spaghetti, slime as well as pumpkin messy-play, eyeball pong and making their witches hat biscuits.

"They also completed a whole range of craft activities which included scary pumpkins and spooky ghosts.”

The week built-up to a mini disco and games of pass the parcel and musical statues before they tucked into a party lunch.

Gaynor said: “Whilst this is all fun, fun, fun, we still have to ensure the children are learning too!

“Finessing both fine and gross motor skills through games, as well as improving balance and co-ordination, they discussed colours and texture during our craft activities, helping with their communication and language learning and listening skills, all key learning activities throughout the day.

“The whole Halloween event week helps to promote social skills, interacting with others' and of course building relationships and friendships.”

The rooms throughout the nursery were decorated with children's art, bouncing bats, pumpkins and ghosts all adorned the walls.

Little Trinity looks after 35 children ranging in age from two to four years.
