CHRISTMAS has been cancelled at a Wythall school - much to the bemusement of parents and pupils.

Well, not really cancelled, just delayed by 367 days.

As if 2020 has not been enough for everyone to handle already, Woodrush High School's student planner has missed out Christmas this year and decided to schedule it for December 27, next year.

Following on from that logic, Boxing Day is, of course, yes, that's right, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

The school has blamed a "printers' error" for the oversight but parent Claire Edwards pointed out they were not the only mistakes on the planner.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

"Very confusing term dates in the Woodrush student planner, how can 1st of April be a Thursday and a Friday?" she questioned.

"How can May Day be Friday 3rd May when it’s on a Monday?

"How can Christmas Day be on 27th December and Boxing Day be the 28th?"

We were all hoping that things would get back to normal by next year, weren't we? But not if Woodrush gets its way, it appears.

The school admitted the error with good grace, saying the planner should have detailed bank holidays in lieu of the two festive days, which fall over a weekend in 2021.

A spokesperson for Woodrush High School said: “Unfortunately there was an error with the version used by the printers and it should have read bank holidays in lieu of Christmas Day and Boxing Day.”
