A RURAL road just outside Bromsgrove was closed after a car hit a telegraph pole and its driver was taken to hospital on Tuesday lunchtime.
The car overturned and the telegraph pole was said to have fallen after the incident on Sillins Lane, Elcock's Brook, at around 12.30pm.
A woman in her 60s, the sole occupant of the car, was taken to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service.
A fire crew from Bromsgrove attended the incident, which occurred near the Brooke Inn, but the woman had been released from the vehicle prior to their arrival.
The road was closed in both directions between Cruise Hill Lane and Ham Green Lane for an hour after the incident before reopening to single-file traffic.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "An ambulance and paramedic officer attended and assessed one woman who had managed to self-extricate from the overturned car.
"The woman had sustained no serious injuries and was given treatment on scene before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further checks."
