THE county's infection rate has fallen in the latest in coronavirus data and is now the lowest it has been for more than a month.

Worcestershire's infection rate was 124 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 26 with a total of 739 cases recorded in the county across the seven days.

The infection rate was 122.9 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to October 22.

Worcestershire's rate also dropped from 201.4 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 19.

Worcester's infection rate in the week up to November 26 was 94.8 cases per 100,000 people - down from 188.7 in the week up to November 19.

It is the first time the infection rate has been in double figures in Worcester since October 18.

The latest Public Health England figures show infection rates across Worcestershire at the end of the third week of a national lockdown.

The highest infection rate in Worcestershire remained in Redditch which had an infection rate of 187.7 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 26 - down from 297.9 cases per 100,000 people a week earlier.

A total of 160 cases were recorded in the most recent week.

Wychavon's infection rate fell to 85.8 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 26 with 111 cases recorded.

The infection rate in Malvern Hills was 68.6 cases per 100,000 people - down from 109.3 cases per 100,000 people a week earlier. A total of 54 cases were recorded in the most recent week.

The infection rate in Wye Forest was 155 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 26 with 156 cases recorded. The rate fell from 250.8 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 19.

Bromsgrove's infection rate was 161.2 cases per 100,000 people in the same week - down from 232.3 cases per 100,000 people a week earlier.

A total of 161 cases were recorded in the week up to November 26.
