People across Bromsgrove district are being offered the chance to ‘treecycle’ their Christmas trees and raise vital funds for a local charity.

The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust will be covering the area in their first ever ‘treecycling’ campaign in January 2021.

Instead of having all those Christmas tree needles in the back of your car, people can ask the Trust to pick it up for you.

The charity is based at Upton Snodsbury and is offering the tree recycling service in the WR1, WR4, WR9 and B60 postcode areas.

That includes Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Wychbold, Stoke Prior and Stoke Heath, plus Alvechurch and Barnt Green.

All you need to do is register for a collection and the team will pick up your tree on January 6, 8 or 9.

The charity was set up in memory of Grace, who passed away at the age of four from a rare form of childhood cancer.

There is no minimum donation, but the Trust say £10 could cover the printing and distribution of 350 of their signs and symptoms awareness cards (which could enable a child to be diagnosed with cancer at an earlier stage).

A £15 donation could pay for the production and dispersion of 15 information booklets that make things a little less scary for children receiving treatment for cancer.

Deadline to register is Monday, January 4, at 12noon. If your tree is over 8ft tall and you wish to book a collection, ring 01905 885777 or e-mail: contact@gkcct.org

The Trust also need more volunteers. Ring 01905 885777.
