CREATIVE pupils across Bromsgrove have helped sprinkle some Christmas magic this festive season, as part of a community initiative with social housing provider Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (bdht).

Pupils and children from Meadows First School, Charford First School, Chadsgrove School, Crown Meadow School, Kirstie’s Little Helpers Nursery and Stoke Prior After School Club have come together to create colourful designs, including cards and pictures to help spread festive cheer to bdht’s sheltered housing residents.

After a lonely year for many due to the Covid-19 pandemic, more than 240 residents have received the handmade cards with thoughtful messages from the children, which has helped to put smiles on faces.

Hannah Ross, independent living manager at bdht, said: “Health and wellbeing is now more important than ever in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, and particularly as we enter this Christmas period where people may feel isolated or lonely.

"We wanted to lift some of our resident’s spirits, which is why we launched this local initiative and show them how much love and support there is in our local community and to spread some festive cheer.

“We thoroughly enjoyed working with local pupils and children on this project and would like to say a huge thank you for all their hard work and creativity.

"Their cards will be a lovely gift to those who may be unable to celebrate Christmas with their families as they would have liked to this year and will bring joy to many.”
