Police warn they are patrolling Clent and Lickey Hills for COVID-19 breaches

Offers from Bromsgrove Policing Team said they have been out and about today (Sunday January 10) ensuring lockdown guidelines are being followed and warned that "positive action is being taken."

They tweeted: "West Mercia, Bromsgrove SNT are patrolling the areas of Clent and the Lickey Hills.

"Please ensure guidelines of essential travel are adhered to.

"Positive action is being taken. #staysafeeveryone."

Yesterday Bromsgrove police tweeted that eight out of ten cars on Monument Lane car park near Lickey Hills had left as soon as they pulled up.

They tweeted: "Something tells me they weren't all out just for daily exercise.

"Keep following the guidelines folks. They're for everyone's safety. #StayHomeSaveLives."

During the last lockdown police urged people to avoid Clent, which is a popular destination for hikers and dog walkers from Birmingham and the Black Country.

In November pictures showed people struggling to get car parking spaces on The National Trust car park at Walton Hill, Clent and Worcestershire council and health chiefs warned the beauty spot could be closed following scenes of traffic chaos.
