DRIVERS are being warned of night-time motorway diversions as work is carried out on link and slip roads.

Temporary works will shut one of the links between the M42 and M5, while another M5 slip road will also close for repairs.

The first closure is due this Friday night from 10pm to 6am and involves the closure of the exit slip from the southbound carriageway of the M5 at junction 5, which serves Droitwich.

The road needs to be closed for resurfacing work, and diversions will operate using Junction 6, Worcester North.

Meantime the road linking the M42 westbound with the M5 north is scheduled to be shot form 9pm to 6am on Friday, February 5.

The closure is needed to carry out bridge parapet repairs and the diversion route will be via junction 5 of the M5.

There are warnings of other roadworks on a series of local roads in the Bromsgrove and Droitwich areas coming up, including, Belbroughton, Alvechurch, Oddingley, Bournheath, Ham,pton Lovett, Lickey End and Upton Warren.

Meanwhile plans have been revealed for the demolition of the Raven Hotel in Droitwich and the erection of around fifty homes, and for no waiting along West Street in the town.
