THREE men wearing baseball caps and black face masks carried out a robbery at a home in Ombersley.

The victim, a man in his 70s, was asleep at the time but woke to find three offenders in his room with a metal bar.

The men stole cash from the property before leaving.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the robbery that took place at a house in Bishops Wood Road between 3.30pm and 4pm on Saturday, February 5.

Inspector Tony Garner said: This was a particularly distressing incident for the victim and we’re really keen to hear from anyone who has any information relating to it.

“Robberies such as these are rare which is why when they do happen they are treated extremely seriously.

"I would encourage anyone who has any information which may assist the investigation to contact us."
