A MAN has been rushed to hospital following a serious two-car crash on the M42 northbound in Alvechurch.
The collision happened just before 6am this morning (Tuesday, February 16) at Junction two near Hopwood Services.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We sent one ambulance to the scene. On arrival, crews found two patients.
"We treated one man for injuries not believed to be serious and he was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment. A second man was assessed but did not require any treatment and was discharged at the scene.”
Lane three of the road remains closed according to Highways England. There is five miles of congestion and currently delays of 30 minutes above normal journey times.
Road users have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
