TWO people have been arrested after a nine-year-old boy died inside a house in Droitwich this afternoon.
Police and two air ambulances rushed to the semi-detached home in Vashon Drive, Copcut, at around 3pm.
The boy was found in a critical condition and was flown to hospital but sadly nothing could be done to save him.
A man and woman have been arrested in connection with the death.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Earlier this afternoon, Thursday February 18, police were called to an address in Vashon Drive, in Copcut, Droitwich.
"A nine year-old boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition, we’ve been informed he has sadly died. His next of kin has been informed, however, formal identification has not yet taken place.
"His death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are on-going around the circumstances.
"Two people, a man and woman, have been arrested while police enquiries continue. They remain in police custody."
Detective Inspector Ed Slough, said: “This is a tragic incident that has seen a young boy lose his life and our thoughts are with his family at this awful time. We are currently treating the boy’s death as unexplained and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.”
