TRIBUTES have continued to pour in for Alfie Scott, the nine-year-old who tragically died last week, including from his school where leaders said it was a “very sad time”.

The unexplained death of Alfie, a pupil of Witton Middle School, took place at his home in Copcut, Droitwich on Thursday.

A 33-year-old woman arrested for suspected child neglect and a 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder were both released on bail on Friday night, and police have released no further update since.

A spokesman for the Spire Trust, the multi agency trust of schools of which Witton Middle is a member, said: “We are deeply saddened by the death of one of our students and our thoughts are with their family and friends at this very sad time.

“We will do our utmost to support the school community during this difficult period and are working with Worcestershire Children First to provide specialist support to any that need it.

“Witton Middle School has recently become a valued member of The Spire Trust. The trust will continue to work with all agencies supporting the multi-agency response and investigation into this tragic incident.”
