The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, had died aged 99, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”

Please leave your message here.....My heartfelt condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and The Royal Family. I happened to meet Prince Philip in May 1989 at The Cadet Inspection of Bishop's College School as I am a BCS alumnae. I remember his visit very fondly. His legacy lives on. RIP Prince Philip.

A wonderful man who I have the utmost respect for. I gained my Bronze, Silver and Gold D of E Award and was lucky enough to meet him. He was an inspiration to us all.
