BROMSGROVE Library is set to be the new rapid Covid testing site for the district from this Thursday (April 29).

The Ryland Centre, which has been a testing site since February, will offer its last day of testing tomorrow (April 28).

The library on Park Side, Market Street will be open from 12:30am to 4:30pm on Thursday for testing.

From Friday normal opening hours will be Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm and 10:30am to 3:30pm on Saturdays.

Hannah Perrott, assistant director for communities, said: “Libraries offer a convenient location for local people to get a free rapid flow tests and we are delighted that Bromsgrove library is being added as a test site to further support our local community.

“Libraries across Worcestershire reopened on 12 April for browsing and borrowing so this gives people a great opportunity to get tested while visiting the library.”

The library will also become a collection point for home testing kits.

The new site will run alongside the existing testing site in the town’s Stourbridge Road Car Park, which provides testing for people with symptoms of Covid-19 in the morning and is a collection point for home testing kits in the afternoon.
