A TEENAGER has been seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Longbridge last night.

The male cyclist was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital after emergency treatment at the scene.

West midlands Ambulance service was called to reports of a collision between a truck and a cyclist on Coombes Lane at 9.56pm.

Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a merit trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic were sent.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find bystanders, including an off-duty medic caring for a teenage boy who had suffered serious injuries following a collision with a car.

“Following emergency treatment at the scene by ambulance staff, he was then transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further assessment.”
