A Worcester resident says he is having trouble booking appointments to receive the Covid-19 vaccination.

David Williams says he was sent a text message from the NHS telling him to make an appointment to have the jab - but when he clicked on the link there were no bookings available at any of the many vaccination sites in the city.

Although the Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG claims there are 'a good level' of appointments available at St Peter’s Baptist Church in Worcester.

A spokesperson for Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG said: “While supply remains varied across the country, appointments may not always be available at all locations.

"Patients are advised that if their preferred location is unavailable, they can choose to travel to an alternative site where an earlier appointment is available, or keep checking for appointments at their preferred location using the online booking system, or by calling 119.

"Currently vaccination centres at St Peter’s Baptist Church in Worcester, the Artrix in Bromsgrove, and the Three Counties Showground in Malvern have a good level of appointments available.

"We invite all eligible patients to book themselves in as soon as they can by visiting the NHS Booking Site at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/, or by calling 119.”

A third of UK adults are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19, latest figures have shown.
