THE BirdBox in Bromsgrove is set to fly high again as it welcomes back visitors for a relaxed weekend of food, drink and music.

While social distancing is still in place, Bromsgrove District Council, in collaboration with the Bromsgrove Indie Club and North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration, has set up a programme of events as a taster of what’s to come later in the year.

On Friday, May 21, there will be acoustic music from Jack Read and the Shaders, and on Saturday, DJ Simon Wright will be providing the tunes.

Throughout the weekend there is food and treats from Fabufloss, Pizza Heaven, CherryonTopcupcakes and Dan’s Ice-creams and Decanter Spirit will be serving drinks using table service.

Bromsgrove District Council Leader Karen May said: “What great news. Unfortunately the BirdBox’s wings were clipped as part of the Covid restrictions.

“But I am delighted to see this amazing space once again being used to provide something for our residents and visitors to enjoy as well as supporting our independent traders.”

The pop-up outlets will be open from 1pm til 9pm on Friday, May 21, and 12pm til 9pm on Saturday, May 22. Social distancing must be maintained with only six people to a table

Bromsgrove Indie Club’s spokesperson Anthony Hall said: “It’s been a long few months for our independents especially for those who haven’t got an online presence.

“I hope our residents come along and support them this weekend and enjoy the BirdBox once again.”
