THE team behind a popular Bromsgrove butchers are set to host a birthday bash for good causes to mark three years in the town.

Butcher’s Block, run by Lilith and Michelle Holsey-Shepherd, will host a birthday fundraiser on Saturday, August 7 to celebrate three years on the High Street.

The birthday fundraiser has fast become an annual event and each year raises cash for local charities.

All money raised from this year’s event will be donated to Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide, specifically to support their work in Bromsgrove, and North Worcestershire Basement Projects which helps disadvantaged young people.

The duo will be marking their anniversary on Bromsgrove’s High Street with music, food and games.

A raffle will be taking place in store throughout the day with prizes up for grabs including £50 to spend in the shop, a bottle of artisan Piston Gin and a £20 voucher to spend at Hairs & Graces salon.

The event will also see the return of Lil’s Baps street food to the market, while vintage singer Lizzy Rushby will be on hand to perform classic songs throughout the day.

It comes after the business rallied to support the community during the coronavirus lockdown, through launching a home delivery system and food packages.

Lilith said: “We want to bring the community together to have a good time, enjoy good food and company.”

Looking back at the highlight of the past three years, Lilith added: “100% it is the sheer support from our customers. They have been incredible.

“We’re constantly getting new people coming in saying so and so told me to come in."

The Butcher’s Block annual charity day takes place on Saturday August 7 from 8am and continues throughout the day. For details on how to buy raffle tickets, visit Butcher’s Block Bromsgrove on Facebook.
