Goals from summer signings Jourdain Masidi and Nehemia Zazi contributed to Bromsgrove Sporting's 2-2 friendly draw versus Coventry United on Saturday afternoon.

On the Rouslers' first home pre-season encounter of the campaign, Masidi's first half header was cancelled out by a Joe Cairns free kick just three minutes later writes Max Banner.

Zazi gave Sporting the lead once again four minutes into the second half, but Riley O'Sullivan levelled with eight minutes remaining to ensure the game would finish all square.

Bromsgrove almost took the lead 13 minutes in, as Leon Broadhurst had a header cleared off the line before Connor Taylor saw his shot saved by former Rousler, Reece Francis, in a penalty area melee.

Midway through the half, O'Sullivan struck wide from a one-on-one situation. This was followed by Will Shorrock shooting straight at Francis from a decent position.

The deadlock was broken in the 39th minute, as a sumptuous cross by Josh Dugmore was headed in from six yards by Masidi.

However, the lead didn't last long, as Cairns converted a free kick from just outside the box in the 42nd minute.

Sporting reclaimed the advantage early in the second half, as a deflected Cameron Ebbutt free kick was well saved by Francis, only for Zazi to be on hand to tap in the rebound.

Taylor, Masidi and Ebbutt all had opportunities to extend the lead thereafter but were unable to convert; the equaliser came in the 82nd minute, as O'Sullivan neatly converted from close range.

Sporting line-up: Max Beardmore (Akos Onodi 46 mins), Josh Dugmore, Player A (Jourdain Masidi 39 mins), Leon Broadhurst, Player B, Nathan Hayward, Kieran Dunbar (Cameron Ebbutt, 46 mins), Jack Hallahan, Will Shorrock, Nehemia Zazi, Connor Taylor.
