An owner has sent out a desperate plea after his cat was lost following a car crash in Frankley.

Craig Woods, 33, was travelling between his homes in Bath and Liverpool, heading north on the M5, when he was involved in a crash last Tuesday, August 3, at around 7pm.

The crash took place between Worcester and Frankley.

In the car with Mr Woods was his short-haired ginger cat, three-year old Pumpkin, and, while Mr Woods was being helped, Pumpkin was let out the car and hasn’t been seen since.

He said: “I was taken out the car and asked if I was ok and I just wanted to know Pumpkin was ok, so somebody just opened the boot of the car, and he just ran.

“He must have been terrified. He has anxiety on the best of days and that’s why he comes everywhere with me you see.

“He ran south of the crash and hasn’t been seen since, I tried to follow him but was told I had to be checked out and couldn’t wander far from the scene.”

Nobody was hurt in the crash but Mr Woods is desperate to see his cat return home.

He has owned Pumpkin since he was a kitten, having received him as a Christmas present from his partner’s mother.

He continued: “I’d like people to know he is my everything and I need him home with me.

“I’m not worried about myself, but he must be scared and confused and he’s at least 100 miles from either home he has.

“His mum and dad and sister, Aurora, she’s my partner’s cat, miss him and just want him safe.”
