VOLUNTARY groups in Bromsgrove are invited to bid for a share of £20k recovery funding to help the town bounce back from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bromsgrove District Council is urging the voluntary community sector and and statutory organisations to apply for the funding which is designed to be used to support community recovery from Covid-19.
Funding, which has been given to the council by Public Health, will be allocated through a competitive grant application process.
Organisations can bid for grants to support a scheme, project, or service they want to deliver which aims to mitigate and alleviate the impact of the pandemic.
Applications should meet certain criteria which includes helping to reduce inequality caused by the impact of Covid-19 and supporting vulnerable groups who have been disproportionally affected by the pandemic. The application should also meet local needs with the borough.
Bids up to £10k can be made for Bromsgrove or as a joint scheme across Redditch and Bromsgrove, but organisations are asked to read the guidance notes for application and request an application form by emailing partnership@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk before entering.
Leader of Bromsgrove District Council, Cllr Karen May, said: “If you are part of a VCS or statutory organisation and have a proposal to help our communities get back on their feet and minimise the lasting effects of the pandemic, please get in touch. Our district has so many schools, parish councils, NHS facilities and VCS groups who are all able to access this funding and make a big difference to the recovery of our communities.”
The closing date for applications is Thursday September 2 at 4pm. Applications can be posted to or hand delivered to Redditch Town Hall or emailed to partnership@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk
Redditch Borough Council, Bromsgrove District Council, Bromsgrove and Redditch Network and Worcestershire County Council will review the applications.
