Dr Kathryn Cobain, director of Public Health for Worcestershire, said: “We have been advised of a significant number of positive Covid-19 tests at St John’s Middle School in Bromsgrove.

“Public Health Worcestershire are working closely to support the school to put in any required extra measures as a result of the recent increase in cases.

“As a number of teaching staff are currently showing symptoms, the school has taken the decision to move to remote education on Monday and Tuesday (4 & 5 October).

“We appreciate parents frustrations at the school having to close.
