A BROMSGROVE couple celebrated the gender reveal of their baby with a fantastic firework air display.

Ben and Vicky Ascott marked finding out the gender of their child last Sunday at a special event at their Bromsgrove restaurant Ascotts.

A plane took to the Bromsgrove skies with pink fireworks to let the couple know they are expecting a baby girl, who is due to arrive next February.

The display could be seen across Bromsgrove and was spotted as far afield as Redditch.

Ben said: "We went to a scan last week to find out what gender is it and to make sure everything is ok. We looked away from the screen and our friend made a note and kept it secret."

The couple held a party at their restaurant with loved ones to celebrate the gender reveal and were delighted to find out they have a baby girl on the way when the fireworks took to the sky.

The air show was thanks to Ben's new venture Fireworks in Flight, which he started a month ago with Chris Pearson from Fantasia Fireworks.

The company specialise in airborne pyrotechnics for special events.

Sunday's display was the second event the pair have put on and it grabbed people's attention on social media with people speculating what was lighting up the evening skies.

Ben, aged 43, said: "For the last couple of days walking down the high street or down the shops, people have been congratulating us. It's been really nice."
