It was honours even at Liberty Way on Saturday afternoon, as Nuneaton Borough and Bromsgrove Sporting played out a 1-1 draw.

Demetri Brown headed Sporting into the lead just before the hour mark, before Danny King equalised for the home side with a little under 20 minutes remaining writes Max Banner.

Nuneaton enjoyed a flurry of chances in the early parts of the match. The eighth minute saw Anthony Dwyer have a shot from inside the box saved via the feet of Akos Onodi, which was followed by off target efforts from Christopher Clements and Connor Shanks.

Bromsgrove's first chance of the half came in the 24th minute, as Miro Pais drilled an effort towards the bottom corner that ex-Sporting stopper Tony Breeden saved well.

Moments later, Damien McCrory headed over a great chance from inside the box. Three Sporting yellow cards in a five minute spell for the Rouslers preceded a Scott McManus free kick that was kept out by Onodi.

The 52nd minute saw Dwyer have another shot saved by Onodi. Six minutes later, the opener came, as a ball by Pais into the box was headed in by Brown from close range.

The scores were level in the 71st minute, as a pinpoint ball into the area was rifled home by King.

Cameron Ebbutt had a golden opportunity to put Bromsgrove into the lead once again with thirteen minutes remaining, but could only send his header from the six yard area over the bar.

King almost bagged a brace in the final minute of normal time; however, he could only sky his effort over from a decent position.

Final score: Nuneaton Borough 1 - 1 Bromsgrove Sporting
