A SIXTH form in Rednal have partnered with basketball team, Bromsgrove Bears.
From September 2022, students looking to study A Level or BTEC Level 3 qualifications at Colmers Sixth Form will have the opportunity to study whilst exploring, their love of basketball.
Students who join the academy will have full access to all courses on offer at the sixth form and will train weekly with the Bromsgrove Bears, competing at National League level.
Professional coaching and weekly games will be part of the academy timetable, with Wednesday afternoons devoted to basketball.
Academy students will be able to choose from a range of coaching courses to develop their sporting expertise and will can gain a Sports Leadership Qualification.
Students in the academy can choose from a traditional academic route studying 3 A Level courses or can opt to take a Level 3 BTEC Sport course.
A spokesperson for Colmers Sixth Form said: “The Basketball Academy is a truly exciting opportunity for young people who want to continue their studies while pursuing a love of basketball.
“Whether sport is something that will remain a lifelong interest or something that you wish to pursue as a career, the academy pathway will offer life-changing opportunities.
