FESTIVITIES in Bromsgrove are set to continue as residents are invited to rock around the Christmas Tree at the town’s BirdBox.

Welcome Back Christmas, a series of festive events across the district will be launched at the events space in Market Street on December 2.

By the light of a 25-foot Christmas tree there will be music from North Worcestershire’s Rock Choir and food and drink provided by local vendors including No. 3a and Ascotts.

Welcome Back Christmas continues in Aston Fields on Tuesday, December 14 where the sound of Christmas Carols will fill the air. There will also be Christmas music and local vendors selling festive fayre from hog roasts to mulled wine, from 5pm till 10pm.

Bromsgrove District Council Leader Karen May said “This is more good news for Bromsgrove which in the last month has seen BirdBox clinch a top award and the town secure £14m of funding for regeneration.

“It’s great to see these events following on from the official Christmas lights switch on so we can continue to celebrate in the run up to Christmas and support our local traders and independent businesses.”

As part of the festivities a Christmas Market will be held at BirdBox with wooden chalets selling handmade crafts, street food, steins of German beer and boozy hot chocolate.

The market will be open from Friday, December 17 to Sunday, December 19 with different vendors each day.

Welcome Back Christmas follows the successful Welcome Back launch event in October using cash from the government’s Welcome Back Fund and under the ‘Your People, Your Places, Your Bromsgrove’ banner.
