UNSUNG heroes were celebrated with a festive extravaganza at Webbs Garden Centre.

Webbs selected local heroes nominated by the community to enjoy a special evening at the site's Enchanted Gardens, which is now open.

The families enjoyed a VIP event with festive treats and a trip through the centre's impressive light trail.

Ed Webb, owner of Webbs Garden Centres, said: “The past year has been challenging for so many people, and yet there are always individuals that go above and beyond to help others. We wanted to celebrate these wonderful people and give them the recognition they deserve.”

Prizes were awarded throughout the evening, including for the the 'Most Festive Families'.

The main prize of the night was given to five-year-old Vinne Mason, who was recognised for his positive outlook and bravery facing every day with Leukaemia.

Vinnie’s mother Jennifer Wincott added: “We attended Webbs VIP Enchanted Gardens on Friday evening, where Vinnie was honoured to be awarded overall hero on the night. We had such a lovely evening, just being out of the house and hospital.

"It was really special, Vinnie could be a five year old for a few hours, enjoying the evening with his sister whose life has also been impacted massively.”

Ed Webb added: “It’s become a tradition at Webbs to open the festive season with our 'Local Heroes' event. It was a great night and as always it was our pleasure to give something back to the local community as we mark the start of the Christmas countdown."
