Bromsgrove District Housing Trust has welcomed new staff to its independent living team to help residents.

Sam Harris and Sunny Cheema have joined the social housing provider as independent living advisors to provide residents with the advice, tools and guidance required to help them live independent lives.

Sam has joined bdht after 15 years of experience as a family support worker at Worcestershire Children First working with vulnerable young people.

Meanwhile Sunny has come to Bromsgrove following 12 years working in the social housing sector, playing a key role helping the homeless.

It comes as bdht to expand its team to deal with the coronavirus crisis, having taken on 12 new recruits over the past 18 months.

Graeme Anderson, chief executive at bdht, commented: “"Our independent living team plays an incredibly important role in supporting our customers to live happy and fulfilled lives. Sam and Sunny are already proving to be a great addition to the team who are doing outstanding work.

“The Coronavirus pandemic has been a challenging period for individuals and businesses across the UK.

“We are pleased that during this time we have not only been able to keep all our team working, but also to welcome so many new starters to our growing organisation. We’d like to wish all them all the very best of luck in their new roles.”
