DRIVERS have been hit with court bills by magistrates for a range of driving offences in Redditch and Bromsgrove.

They received fines from Herefordshire Magistrates' Court on December 23.

A Redditch man was handed a court bill of more than £1,000 for driving offences in the town.

Andrzej Wojtach, of St Georges Road, was caught driving a Volkswagen Golf on Studley Road without insurance on June 18.

The 43-year-old was also caught driving the car with a damaged tyre as the grooves of the tread pattern of a tyre fitted to the rear offside wheel were not at least 1.6mm deep.

He was handed a combined fine of £1,100 and was also ordered to pay costs and a surcharge, bringing his total court bill to £1,300.

At the same court, a 22-year-old man was fined hundreds of pounds for driving without insurance in Bromsgrove.

Shane Hitchcock, of Hednesford Road in Walsall, was caught driving a Mercedes on the M5 in Bromsgrove without insurance on May 31.

He was fined £450 and also ordered to pay a £45 surcharge and £90 costs.

Meanwhile, two Redditch men were fined for not wearing seatbelts.

Ian Pitman, of Huband Close, was fined £220 for failing to wear a seatbelt in a Ford Transit on Rough Hill Drive.

The 50-year-old was also ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Mircea Zbircea, aged 45 of Oakly Road, was caught driving a Volkswagen Jetta on Unicorn Hill while not wearing a seatbelt on May 27.

He was ordered to pay a £220 fine, £34 surcharge and £90 costs by magistrates.
