BROMSGROVE residents are being encouraged to volunteer with nature conservation charity Worcestershire Wildlife Trust this year.

The trust is set to run a series of taster sessions during January and February to provide an insight into what being a volunteer involves.

On Sunday, January 30, a session will be taking place at Piper's Hill and Dodderhill Commons nature reserve.

Joe Gillard, volunteer development officer for the trust said: “We couldn’t do what we do for wildlife without our volunteers.

"Our practical conservation volunteers help to make our nature reserves even better for the wildlife that lives there; with more than 75 nature reserves across Worcestershire, there are opportunities close to home for most people.”

Joe added that 'practical conservation isn't everyone's cup of tea' so there are a raft of other opportunities such as admin support and wildlife gardening advisors to get involved with.
