I would like to wish all of my constituents and Bromsgrove Advertiser readers, a Happy New Year. There is no doubt that 2021 was another challenging year, but the spirit, kindness and resolve of residents in Bromsgrove District remains strong – not least in the great effort to roll up our sleeves and get boosted.

My sincere thanks also go to the armed forces and frontline workers, who continued their vital work over the festive period. I visited the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove on Christmas Day to personally thank the nurses and clinicians on shift and serve tea to patients.

As you will know, we are engaged in a national mission to get boosted. The response across the country has been fantastic, but there is still more to do. I was incredibly proud to see the Artrix vaccination centre in Bromsgrove receive national attention for its work to vaccinate people 24hrs a day during the Christmas period.

If you have not received your booster - or even a first or second dose - please come forward. We know how important the vaccines are in protecting you, your loved ones, and the wider community.

I look forward to the work ahead in 2022 to support residents and deliver on their priorities. As ever, if I can be of any support to my constituents, please email me at sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk
