AN alleged assault at a Bromsgrove football ground which left a man needing hospital treatment is being investigated by police.

The incident happened at Bromsgrove Sporting FC at around 5.30pm on Saturday 15 January after the Bromsgrove v Alvechurch match.

A 41-year-old man was treated in hospital for injuries.

No arrests have been made and police have launched an appeal for witnesses.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "We are investigating an allegation of assault which took place at Bromsgrove Sporting FC at around 5.30pm on Saturday 15 January.

"A 41-year-old man received treatment in hospital for injuries he sustained during the incident and has since been discharged.

"No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing."
