BROMSGROVE Sporting have parted company with manager Gavin Hurren following a meeting of the board of directors.

The club has said he joined the club when it was in a "vulnerable position" and thanked him for his hard work and professionalism.

In a statement they said: "Gavin’s brief was to ensure we stay at level 3 and as we know, that has been achieved.

"But after discussions between the board and Gavin, both parties have agreed to part company.

"We thank Gavin for all his hard work and professionalism during his time at Sporting and wish him all the best for the future".

On Facebook, Gavin said: "Following meetings with the board of directors, I am gutted to say we have agreed to go our separate ways.

"Personally I want to thank every single one of my players for the respect and professionalism they showed me from the minute I walked in.

"We did what we set out to do and that was to keep the club in the league and we did it."

He added: "Thank you to all the Bromsgrove Sporting fans you made me feel so welcome and showed unbelievable support to myself and the players to help us achieve staying up".
