POLICE want to trace a man who raised the alarm following the death of an older man in Bromsgrove.

The man, described as being in his early twenties and wearing black clothing, was walking home along Manor Court Road at about 10.30 pm on Wednesday (May 4) when he came across the older man collapsed in the road.

He called for help and emergency services were alerted.

Sadly the older man, who was in his seventies, died at the scene.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been prepared for the coroner.

Police said they are "keen to identify" the man.

Detective Sergeant Iain Standing said: "We don’t believe the man is connected with the elderly man’s death in any way, but would like to speak to him to thank him.

"He left the area without giving his contact details so we would like him, or anyone who knows who he may be, to get in touch with us.

"We are not treating the death as suspicious.

"It was a very sad incident, and our thoughts are with the family of the man who died."
