BROMSGROVE Carnival is returning this year and it is promised to be bigger and better than ever.

The well-loved event is making its return on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.

The fun kicks off with an outdoor cinema in Sanders Park on Friday evening and the public will soon be able to decide which films will be shown with a Facebook poll.

On Saturday, a lorry procession will convoy through the town from midday and arrive in Sanders Park at 1 pm.

The park is set to be full of a programme of acts throughout the day, and a range of stalls, shows and activities.

To finish off the day, local athletes can take part in the challenging Timberhonger 10k and children’s challenge fun run.

A tethered hot air balloon and several vintage cars will also add to the activities.

Bromsgrove Carnival chairman, Adam Lote said: “It has been two years since we held the carnival, so I am so excited.

“It has been challenging to get it all together as many industries have been hit hard by Covid and obviously prices have increased.

“However, I have been really enthused by the public’s responses and the demand to bring the carnival back.”
