AN activity centre in Bromsgrove has been commended for its efforts in preparing for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Aztec Adventure has become the latest organisation to gain acknowledgement for its commitment to the commonwealth games, which begin next month.

The water sports centre has been awarded the ‘Games Ready Business’ recognition, meaning more than 80 per cent of its staff have been trained using the ‘Games Ready Business programme.

The e-learning programme prepares businesses to welcome international guests, providing information to ensure the region delivers an ‘outstanding’ visitor experience and showcases the best of the West Midlands.

On receiving the recognition, Mark Spence, owner of Aztec Adventure said: “We are passionate about delivering a warm welcome and are incredibly proud to have achieved the Games Ready Business Recognition.

“When our customers see the ‘Games Ready Business’ badge in our business they’ll understand that they have made a commitment to provide a world-class welcome in our business.

“Not only does this generate a positive buzz about the service we offer, but it helps to promote Aztec Adventure as a friendly and welcoming tourist destination.”

Aztec Adventure offers a wide range of activities including an aqua park, boat hire, sailing and canoeing tuition, open water swimming, archery and climbing across two locations at Upton Warren and Lower Moor in Worcestershire.
