FIREFIGHTERS were called to a flat fire in Alvechurch in the early hours of this morning (Thursday June 23).
Two crews from Redditch were alerted just before 6am after a fire broke out in a bedroom of a first floor flat in Buckley’s Green.
Police and paramedics also attended the incident but no one was injured.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Redditch were called at 5.43am on June 23 to a house fire in Buckley’s Green, Alvechurch.
“The fire was in a first-floor flat bedroom and was extinguished using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets."
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and paramedic officer to the scene and a spokesperson said: "One patient was assessed but didn’t require hospital treatment and was discharged on scene."
Firefighters left the scene at around 10.30am.
