BROMSGROVE District Housing Trust (bdht) has pledged 1,000 hours of volunteer work to local charities.
More than 145 bdht employees will swap one day or 7.5 hours on the job to pledge their time to support local community initiatives throughout 2022.
To launch the campaign, volunteers visited some of bdht’s Independent Living Schemes to speak to customers over a cup of tea for their combatting loneliness push.
Sam Powell, HR Officer at bdht, said: “As a not-for-profit organisation, everything we do is about best serving our residents.
“The 1,000 Hours campaign is designed to empower our staff to make time to make a difference in their community and give back to local organisations which play such a vital role in the area. We’ve been overwhelmed by their enthusiasm to take part.”
The bdht team is set to support a variety of charitable causes including youth groups, renovation projects and community fun days.
