WORK is underway to upgrade the current traffic signals at the junction of Market Street and The Strand, known locally as Parkside, in Bromsgrove.
The work is expected to be completed in early-September 2022.
The new traffic signals will measure and react to the traffic levels at the junction using sensors in the road.
The county council say it “will provide a more efficient use of the junction, reducing delays for traffic using the strategic network”.
Councillor Mike Rouse, cabinet member with responsibility for highways and transport, said: “The upgrade of existing traffic signals to MOVA intelligent signals is a much-needed improvement as I know many people use this junction to travel through Bromsgrove, and is an innovative common-sense solution as part of our commitment to improving journey times and traffic flow.”
Where possible, most of the work is planned to take place between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm to avoid peak traffic times.
