A MAN from Rubery has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 16-year-old who was fatally stabbed in Wolverhampton.
Josiah Francis, aged 20, of Westcote Avenue is charged with the murder of Ronan Kanda after he was stabbed to death on Mount Road, in Lanesfield, shortly before 9 pm on Wednesday, June 29.
Ronan died at the scene and a murder investigation was started. A post-mortem revealed he died after being stabbed twice.
Two 16-year-old boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have also been charged with murder.
The three defendants appeared via video link at Wolverhampton Crown Court on July 6 to confirm their names and addresses.
Francis has been remanded in custody to appear at the same court on September 19 for a plea hearing.
Ronan’s family said he "was a kind-hearted, loving, caring 16-year-old and a "son and a brother who would do anything for anyone."
