TWO neighbours from Bromsgrove are celebrating after winning £60,000 thanks to their postcode.
Kate Ryder, aged 52 and Audra Colbourne, aged 56, won the cash when B60 3JW was announced as a winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Sunday, July 10.
The pair, who are good friends, scooped £30,000 each.
Kate said: “I’ve only won £10 twice and I thought about cancelling it recently, but my husband persuaded me not to. Now here I am £30,000 richer!”
Kate has Audra to thank for the win as she was the one who convinced her to play.
Audra said: “I’ve played for years, and I said to Kate if I won, you’d be devastated so she joined up after that. It’s lovely that we’ve won together.”
When asked how she would spend the money, Audra said: “I think my husband wants some new golf clubs!
“I’m going to have to write a list, I just don’t know what to spend it on. It’s fantastic.”
Kate added: “I’m going to have a holiday. And I’m going to take my mum to the Savoy for afternoon tea. It’s all very surreal.”
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said: “I’ve had a lot of fun in Bromsgrove surprising Audra and Kate with big cheques.
“It was a pleasure to meet them and I’m sure they’ll have a lot of fun celebrating!”
