HAGLEY schoolteacher Pippa Brazier is helping to head a national campaign which is trying to tempt more people to take up a career in teaching.

The ‘Get into Teaching’ programme is particularly targeting graduates and students who are in the final year of their degree who are still undecided as to which career they want to pursue.

The campaign is being backed by the Department for Education and provides experienced teacher training advisers who offer support and advice for anyone interested in taking up teaching as a career.

Pippa, who is a 25 year old music teacher at Haybridge High School said: “Deciding to train as a teacher when I graduated was the best career move I ever made, even though there were lots of options open to me.

“The best part about teaching is sharing my passion and love of music with students. I get to watch their skills and enthusiasm grow – which is something I find very special.

“Every lesson can help shape a life and the impact of a good teacher can go far beyond the classroom.

“When you can see you have impacted a child’s life for the better, that is the greatest reward in the world.
