BRAVE Bromsgrove hairdresser Angie Owen has survived a personal trip to hell and back after beating breast cancer.

But that wasn't the only trauma Angie had to deal with having lost her 20-year-old son Owen following a fatal car crash.

If that wasn't bad enough, her partner John Hagues suffered a heart attack at the same time.

Angie admitted : "I've been through hell! But now, I've been given the all clear and pressed the bell!

The 52-year-old, who lives in Stourbridge, said: "I cried with joy when they told me the news that I'd got the all clear.

"I cannot tell you what a relief it was to hear that, especially as my own mum had breast cancer as well.

"John is also on the mend as well, which is wonderful.

"I've already been back to work part-time. I work at a salon in Bromsgrove - but since being given the all-clear after six months of chemotherapy, I've just wanted to give something back."

Angie held a celebration party on Saturday August 6 at the Mayfair Club in Brierley Hill where family and friends helped her raise £900 on the night for Cancer Research.

She said: "Everyone was so kind and did everything for free. The hire of the club, the disco and the catering. I cannot thank everyone enough.

"We charged everyone £5 for a ticket entry, which entitled them to enter a raffle as well where people were so generous with prizes which they donated."

She added: "There were tickets to the West Midlands Safari Park, meals from Stourbridge-based Mr Breakfast, Greek Cuisine restaurant and John even offered to do a free disco. My friend Kelly Reid helped arrange the event and even did all the catering for me. Even the staff at the Mayfair Club contributed."
