Further DELAYS to a toilet block development in Evesham have been confirmed.
Work began on refurbishing the Waterside toilets last November, with work supposed to be completed in May.
Wychavon District Council then announced it would not be completed until July but as we approach the midway point of August, work is still taking place with no set reopening date.
Sharon Casswell, head of client services at the council, said: “Unfortunately there have been further delays to the completion of Waterside toilets.
“There have been difficulties getting hold of certain materials, due to the general shortage of building materials, and issues around the reconnection and metering of the electricity supply.
“Officers are working hard with the contractor to resolve these issues and we hope to get the toilets open as soon as possible.”
Workman Gardens have been fenced off since November 15, of last year.
The block was partially demolished and rebuilt with water-saving and energy-efficient measures.
Greywater harvesting tanks, energy-efficient taps and dryers are just some of the new features.
The development will also create a new changing places toilet, offering specialist facilities for people with various disabilities.
The initial delay, announced in April, was due to a “combination of issues”, including staff shortages due to Covid, service connection delays, and Storm Eunice.

Councillor Emma Stokes, executive member for resident and customer services, said at the time: “The original completion date for the redevelopment of Waterside toilets was 13 May 2022.
“However, due to several delays, we are now expecting that the work will be complete in July.
“Whilst we are disappointed that this much-needed scheme won’t be delivered on time, we are extremely proud to have won the latest Public Sector Loo of the Year Award and these toilets are being redeveloped to the same high standards.”
