DRAMATIC pictures show the moment a bull was pulled to safety by a team of firefighters and Bromsgrove vets after becoming stuck in mud.
On August 15, just before 2:30 pm, a 900kg bull managed to become submerged in a pool on a farm in Kings Norton and was lodged in mud which reached three-quarters of the way up its body.
Four crews from Hereford and Worcester fire Service along with a team from Meadow Farm Vets in Bromsgrove and a local farmer pulled the bull out from the pool into a secure pen.
Bromyard Fire Station posted on Facebook: “Crews worked hard to place strops around his body and when in place Sophie Bonnevie [from Meadow Farm Vets] injected him to sedate him.
“Eight minutes later he was ready to be removed from the area.
“A local farmer had brought along his telehandler and the bull was pulled from the mud onto a large glide board so he could slide across the ground to a secure pen that had been supplied by the Meadow Farm vets.
“This was erected in the field and was used as a place of safety until the sedation had time to wear off.”
The bull is expected to make a full recovery.
