A BROMSGROVE care home resident has showcased his photography skills in a special exhibition.

Photographs of landscapes, interiors and people, created by 94-year-old Horace Pritchett, a resident at Care UK’s Chandler Court, on Recreation Road, were displayed in the care home coffee shop as part of an exhibition for family and friends.

Art enthusiast Horace developed a passion for photography in his teenage years, travelling around the world to capture new environments, including Australia, where he lived for many years.

Horace was also an active member of two clubs, Ringwood Photography club and Bromsgrove Photographic Society, for almost 30 years.

“I really enjoyed showing everyone my photographs and talking about my hobby, it was nice to meet Jay too, a young photographer who shares the same passion,” said Horace.

Vongai Mushinga, home manager at Chandler Court, said: “It was lovely to hear Horace discussing his photographs, camera types and inspiration behind them. Horace’s creativity inspires many here at Chandler Court.

“Art is a wonderful way for people of all ages to express their feelings and showcase their artistic flare, and hosting the special exhibition was a fantastic way for everyone at Chandler Court to celebrate the art of photography.

“The photographs were a great topic of conversation and were admired by both residents and team members alike.”
