A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been assaulted and stabbed outside KFC in Bromsgrove.

At around 7pm on Sunday, January 22 police were called to the incident on Charford Road.

The boy was taken to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The offender is described as a white male approximately 6ft, stocky build who at the time of the incident was wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up and a balaclava.

The offender left the scene in an unknown vehicle, it is not known whether he was the driver or a passenger.

Inspector Richard Field said “I would like to reassure our community in Bromsgrove that we believe this to be an isolated incident and fortunately crimes of this nature are very rare.

“Over the last three months, reports of knife-related crime in North Worcestershire have reduced by around half.

"Often intelligence-led, officers, conduct targeted patrols where we believe they are required, and our Safer Neighbourhood Teams continue to work closely with our partners to increase the awareness of the significant dangers of knife crime.

"Police initiatives, such as the Steer Clear programme, engage directly with young people through a series of guest speakers and workshops.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information to please come forward and speak to us.

"We would especially like to hear from anyone with dash-cam or ring bell footage of the incident which may help with the investigation.
