THE new landlord of a Bromsgrove pub is promising to get the venue back on track and at the heart of the community.

From February 9, The Golden Lion in Charford will be under new management as the pub enters a new era with a focus on sports and the community.

Last year, Bromsgrove council decided to modify the pub’s licence due to noise and anti-social behaviour complaints.

However, Adam said he wants residents to get in contact with him to discuss any issues and wants to work with them.

“It’s a beautiful pub and it’s a community pub,” said Adam.

“I am working with the brewery (Marston’s) to get the pub back on track – to get the community feel back.

“What’s the point in having a pub on your doorstep if you cannot use it?

“We are upgrading the pool tables as I have played on one of them and it’s like a banana.

“We are also looking for a food operator to take on the left side of the pub turning it into a restaurant.”

Adam, who is a father to a nine-week-old baby boy, said he knows what type of atmosphere to create for families.

He said: “When you go in the pub and look around it’s a community pub.

“I want to hold local events for the community and put on fun days for children as well as charity events.

“The area is heavily residential and we want to give the residents what they want.

“A good time, good food, good drink and a good atmosphere.”
