MORE than 1,700 potholes were repaired at the end of the last year in Worcestershire.
Between October and December, a total of 1,736 potholes were either reported by residents or identified by highway inspectors and repaired.
The council says they are working hard to repair potholes that meet the defect criteria as soon as they can.
Councillor Mike Rouse, cabinet member with responsibility for highways, at Worcestershire County Council said: “We continue to make a huge investment in our roads and pavements to ensure we have well-connected communities.
“The weather has provided the perfect conditions for potholes to form and that's why we're seeing an increase in the number of road defects throughout the county.
“Worcestershire’s surfaces are the best in the region.
“We have an excellent track record of repairing potholes and always inspect potholes reported to us and make a prompt and effective repair.”
